Russell Worth act on behalf of victims of personal injury. They deal exclusively with personal injury claims from their offices in Plymouth. They help people across England and Wales claim the compensation they are legally entitled to. They are looking for a Level 2 Apprentice who is flexible and can also work on weekends too.

(Please note that this role includes weekend work, and any weekend hours will be paid at an overtime rate.)

The Apprentice’s Role

What You’ll Be Doing:

Main purpose of job

1. To deal with the Company’s new clients and secure as many leads as possible.

Key tasks

2. To receive details of the Company’s new clients from the work introducer or otherwise.

3. To obtain clients personal information and accident details.

4. To vet the new clients.

5. To obtain a final decision on the new client’s claim from the supervising partner or others as appropriate.

6. To accept the new client with the work introducer or client direct where appropriate.

7. To sign client’s up using our funding agreement, being fully compliant.

8. Preparing initial paperwork for passing to sign up agents or client and booking appointments for the paperwork to be signed.

9. Pass to the sign-up agency, UKLA or otherwise.

10. Liaise with UKLA, or otherwise, during the sign-up process.

11. Liaise with referrers.

12. To process the initial paperwork and prepare the files for the Fee Earners.

13. To chase contact with clients.

14. To chase return of documents.

15. To set up ATE on files.

16. Make BTE enquires on files.

17. Deal with client ATE and BTE enquires.

18. Make sure the New and Support Inboxes are kept up to date in a timely manner.

19. To assist Manager with various project tasks as and when they arise.

Duties include

This role requires the highest levels of attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines.

Experience

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
• Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• A team player with a positive attitude

Must be able to work:
• 4 shifts at 9.00am-5.00pm
• 1 shift at 11.00am-7.00pm

(Half day shift on average every other weekend, either Sat or Sun 9.30am-1.00pm paid additional at £60.00 per shift.)

A full-time job may be offered to the right candidate on completion of their apprenticeship for either an administrator or should the candidate wish they can do further training.

The Apprenticeship consists of:

  • Level 2 Business Administration Standard
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English

You will attend sessions as part of your off the job training throughout your apprenticeship. Most aspects of your training will be delivered on site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme

I would find it difficult to get up for 9am but now I wake up and look forward to my day. I wanted to try a hair apprenticeship as I’ve always been interested in hairdressing, and by the end of the first week, I already loved it!

I have developed a range of new skills through work including the technical, industry skills required for the job, to personal development such as ensuring I am always on time. The biggest change since leaving school is adjusting to the independence you gain from earning a salary. My advice to anyone thinking of doing an apprenticeship would be find what you like doing, and go for it!

Since starting the apprenticeship, I’ve become far more confident. In a classroom, you only interact with your classmates, but through working you develop your people skills as you interact with customers on a daily basis. At school, you are closely monitored and parented, however I am now more independent and feel grown up

The most important thing I’ve learnt since leaving school is that there are other routes to success than just academia. I failed my GCSEs, as I never suited the school environment. Now though, I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship as I’ve discovered I learn more through hands-on practice.
