“A few years ago I Sat My GCSES, this Year I’m…”
“Working at Yelverton Residential Home as a Level 2 Health and Social Care Apprentice.
“I’m involved in a wide variety of tasks at the Care Home from getting the residents ready for breakfast and lunch, to ensuring they are comfortable and clean; it’s very rewarding. I was nervous when I first began working here as there was lots to learn, but I quickly picked up the daily routine and now I feel confident in my job.
“The apprenticeship has been extremely useful for gaining hands-on experience and for learning the official procedures behind caring. It’s also great to be able to receive advice and guidance from experienced team members, as it means I learn more quickly.
“My advice to anyone thinking of doing an apprenticeship would be to put yourselves out there and go for it!”
