“A few years ago I Sat My GCSES, this Year I’m…”
“Working on my Level 2 Light Vehicle and Maintenance Repair apprenticeship at Roger Young – a Land Rover, Jaguar and Isuzu dealership. When I was at school, I couldn’t stay focused in a lesson as I preferred hands on work. I started A-Levels, but I knew that wasn’t the best route for me, so I decided to pursue an apprenticeship instead. I’ve always been interested in cars so wanted to develop my skills and knowledge in the industry.
“Since starting the apprenticeship, I’ve become far more confident. In a classroom, you only interact with your classmates, but through working you develop your people skills as you interact with customers on a daily basis. At school, you are closely monitored and parented, however I am now more independent and feel grown up”.
