Hustle Hair are looking for an apprentices to join their friendly hairdressing team.
The Apprentice’s Role
They are looking for someone who is enthusiastic with good social skills, who is creative, and really keen to learn.
Duties are likely to include booking appointments, shampooing, conditioning, blow drying and styling hair, also colour and lightening using a range of techniques.
You will study hairdressing topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection, alongside environmental and sustainable working practices. There is also the option to learn about promoting products, perming, and working with different hair types.
You will also be required to attend arranged college sessions to cover additional practical training alongside structured theory sessions to enable you to cover the Level 2 Hair Professional Standard requirements.
Working Hours: You will be working 30 hours per week, Monday – Saturday (Salon is closed Wednesday). Possible late night training session once a week.
Wages: £129.00 per week, based on a 30 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement pro rata (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Once you have completed the level 2 qualification, you will have the opportunity to work towards either a level 2 in barbering or an advanced level 3 in hairdressing.
Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team, and be able to portray a positive friendly attitude to customers at all times. You must also have good time keeping skills.
Personal Qualities
The successful candidate will need to be outgoing, friendly and presentable, with high standards of hygiene and appearance. You will need to be an enthusiastic team player within the salon, which is an essential part of how the salon runs, demonstrating this consistently to ensure that you promote a positive image at all times.
Prior Qualifications
Qualifications required for this role include A-E in English and Maths or the equivalent, for example functional skills.

All aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site and you will have regular visits every 2 to 4 weeks from your designated assessor from Skills Group, who will monitor your progression throughout your apprenticeship.
As an additional qualification, Skills Group will help you achieve your Emergency First Aid and Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
