The Apprentice’s Role
Teaching assistant role to reflect the operating structure of the School.
To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/ HLTA staff to undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and in the management of the classroom. The work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
The job involves mostly working from instructions, but also making decisions involving the use of initiative.
Working Hours: The hours we are looking at are 8:45 to 16:30 with the possibility of working to 17:00.
Wages: £148.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.
