SW Plastering are looking for a Plastering apprentice to join his team in Plymouth.
The Apprentice’s Role
As a plastering apprentice you will be taught how to work quickly and efficiently as well as safely at all times. You will be taught how to complete the following tasks: plastering, interior/exterior painting and decorating, PVC fascia and guttering, sash windows and jet washing. You will be working in a close knit team to achieve deadlines whilst producing high standards of work.
Working Hours: The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm.
Wages: £156.00 per week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

After completing a level 2 in plastering there maybe an opportunity to progress onto an advanced level 3 qualification.
The right candidate must take pride in their work and show attention to detail. You must have excellent communication skills to work well within a team and use your initiative when working alone. Good time keeping and attendance are also desirable.
You will need to be keen to succeed, reliable, hardworking and have the ability to cope with the physical demands of the role. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail would also be an advantage to the right candidate.
GCSE or equivalent grades A-E (or equivalent) is desired but not essential.
The Apprenticeship in Plastering includes:
Attendance is required at our training centre for one day per week. Your training will consist of part knowledge and part theory, whilst the rest will be practical. During this time you will be shown the necessary hand skills required to use specialist tools, carry out duties such as plastering and skimming, rendering, dry lining work, floor screeding and fibrous moulds. Learning these skills will benefit you on returning to your employer.
You will also have the opportunity to complete additional qualifications in Emergency First Aid and certified Health and Safety, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
Skills Group will also support you to complete your online CSCS test, in order to apply for your CSCS Card. This will enable you to carry out site work with the employer when required.
