Right Price Windows are looking for two committed and enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Fenestration Installation apprentices.

The Apprentices Role

The successful applicant will be working within an installation team.
• The successful applicant will be teamed up with an experienced installer, and given full training on how to fit a variety of windows, PVCu doors, composite doors, bi-folds, French Doors, and conservatories.
• Training will be given on correct Installation methods which is in-line with building regulations, as well as Health and Safety regulations.
• The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work on large sites, for some of the UK’s largest House Builders.
• The role offers great opportunity for progression, alongside training to become a qualified Installer.
• You will be using a variety of different tools, including hand and an power tools.
• The work can involve working at heights, using ladders and scaffolding, and some heavy lifting so please bare this in mind when applying for the position.
• You will be working indoors and outdoors and can involve some work in various weather conditions.

Working Hours: You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, timings TBC.

Wages: £166.00 per week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Right Price PVCu Limited one of the South West’s largest manufacturer, supplier, and installer of windows, doors, and conservatories and roofline. Right Price PVCu is an independent, family-run business – manufacturing and installing high quality items across the South West region and works within the Retail, Commercial and New-Build sector.

Right Price worked with the Skills Group in the past and have successfully trained other Apprentices who are now part of their team.

On completion of your Level 2 apprenticeship with the company, an opportunity to apply for a full time post may be offered to the right candidate.

Skills Required

The successful candidate must be able to work within a team and get on with people of all ages. They must be polite and friendly with the ability to communicate with others whether it be customers or colleagues.

Personal Qualities

They will be honest and trustworthy, as they will deal with members of the public in their own homes. They must also have good time keeping and communication skills. Being polite and courteous to all customers and members of staff is also crucial at all times.

Prior Qualifications

GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths above a C is desirable but a positive attitude and good work ethic is essential.

The Apprenticeship in Fenestration consists of:

Level 2 Fenestation Installer Standard

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with the employer, and you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.

Skills Group will also support you to achieve Emergency First Aid and a Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.

You will also be supported by Skills Group to complete your CSCS online test, to achieve your CSCS Card which enables you to carry out site work, if required.

I would find it difficult to get up for 9am but now I wake up and look forward to my day. I have developed a range of new skills through work including the technical, industry skills required for the job, to personal development such as ensuring I am always on time. The biggest change since leaving school is adjusting to the independence you gain from earning a salary. My advice to anyone thinking of doing an apprenticeship would be find what you like doing, and go for it!

Since starting the apprenticeship, I’ve become far more confident. In a classroom, you only interact with your classmates, but through working you develop your people skills as you interact with customers on a daily basis. At school, you are closely monitored and parented, however I am now more independent and feel grown up

The most important thing I’ve learnt since leaving school is that there are other routes to success than just academia. I failed my GCSEs, as I never suited the school environment. Now though, I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship as I’ve discovered I learn more through hands-on practice.
