This employer is looking for an enthusiastic learner who is self motivated and keen to learn the painting and decorating trade.
The Apprentice’s Role
You will be learning a range of skills but mainly the role will involve, cleaning work areas, preparation work for decorating, hand painting, spray painting, wall papering, and general domestic cleaning for a professional finish. Teamwork and customer service will also be a large part of your role.
Working Hours: Full time hours, Monday to Friday 8-5 equating to 40 hours a week.
Wages: Wages will be £156 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any additional hours worked over the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

BLKC Decorators is based in Plymouth but working in surrounding areas. They are looking to take on an apprentice in the painting and decorating trade to train and support throughout the qualification. BLKC have 20+ years experience providing decorating services for domestic, commercial and industrial properties.
The right apprentice will have an opportunity to progress onto a level 3 qualification to eventually become fully qualified as part of the team.
Good hand skills, customer service, teamwork is required for the role and the apprentice must be self motivated.
You will need to have excellent communication and will need to be reliable.
No qualifications are necessary for this role.
The Apprenticeship in Painting & Decorating consists of:
•Level 2 NVQ Painting & Decorating
•Level 2 Diploma in Painting
•Functional Skills in Maths and English (Level 1)
•Construction Skills Health, Safety and Environment test – CSCS Test
As part of the apprenticeship programme, attendance is required at our Skills Group training centre for one day per week. All other aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site by the employer. You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated Skills Group assessor, who will monitor your progress during your apprenticeship training.
Whilst at the Skills Group training centre, you will learn the necessary skills and gain experience to help you throughout your role. Part of your training will be knowledge and theory based, whilst the rest will be practical. Learning additional skills will benefit you on returning to the employer.
