Waters Park House are looking for looking for a Level 3 Apprentice to join their team in central Plymouth.

The Apprentice’s Role

The successful candidate will have a varied role and will be the first point of contact family and staff.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

• To support the Director of Clinical Services in achieving the completion of all administration tasks in an accurate and timely manner
• To support the Outreach Manager in the completion of tasks, specifically training and others as seen necessary.
• To be instrumental in promotional products for the centre
• To carry out general office duties in an accurate and timely manner.

Your day to day tasks will include:

• To maintain the diaries of Director of Clinical Services and Outreach Manager
• To be responsible for all Human Resource Documentation
• To be responsible for maintaining Client files within Director of Clinical Services office
• To be responsible for the accurate recording and issuing of monies for Clients / recording of initial cheque books / cards
• To assist the Director of Clinical Services in fundraising process
• To be responsible for the documentation relating to Care Quality Commission requirements.
• To be the key person in facility the Quality Assurance process and Clients User guide
• To oversee the accurate and timely transmission of telephone, fax and IT functions, reporting / facilitating/ problems
• Assist in key meetings by recording / typing minutes / notes
• To complete any other work generated by Therapy Team.
• To ensure the recording and sending of mail / receiving of and correct distribution
• To complete monthly staff rota.
• To be supportive and assist The Registered Manager in any essential tasks
• To assist with driving Waters Park House vehicles when the need arises

Start date for this apprenticeship : 15th July 2019.

Working Hours 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Wages £5 per hour.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Waters Park House is a residential service for the rehabilitation of 22 adults with acquired brain injury and neurological disorders. The centre is situated beside parkland in the village of Stoke, on a level site close to the local shops and amenities within the nautical City of Plymouth, Devon.

Staffed by a highly specialist team, Waters Park House opened in 1998. Since this time, the service has gone from strength to strength and now offers facilities for adults with acquired brain injury as well as Huntington's Chorea, Motor Neurone Disease, and Parkinson's Disease.

There are opportunities to progress onto advanced higher qualifications on completion of a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration.

Skills Required

You will need to be organised with excellent attention to detail, and be confident in using a variety of IT programmes, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.

You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as you will be a constant liaison with a variety of professionals in and out of the workplace. You will need an understanding of data protection and customer confidentiality regulations.

Personal Qualities

The successful candidate will need to be outgoing and enthusiastic with a flexible and adaptable approach. It is essential that you are well presented as you are in a customer facing role. You will be ambitious of building a career in the estate agency industry and have the ability to multi-task. You will need to coach and mentor other staff in a variety of skills including ICT, document production, communication and quality.

Prior Qualifications

GCSE A*-C (4-9) grade in Maths, English and ICT is desired however not essential. Previous experience in the business administration industry is again desired however not essential.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:
•Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standards
•Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English
•End Point Assessment

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. You will be required to attend monthly workshops for the first 8 months of your qualification. From month 9 of the apprenticeship the apprentice will need to work on a project and it will need to be completed before the end point assessment. The project needs to improve a process or operating process and they will need to plan the project and implement the project to meet the outcomes. The duration of the qualification will be 15 months.

Business Administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; including the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business Administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.
