Russell Worth Solicitors are looking to recruit a Customer Service Apprentice. This challenging and rewarding position involves working as part of the New Client Team of one of the South West’s leading personal injury solicitors.
The Apprentice’s Role:
The apprentice will be working within the New Client Team where their responsibilities and duties will include:
With full training and a two week Induction to the company, you will be responsible for receiving and logging the details of new clients.
To assess and vet new clients.
To prepare initial paperwork and keep all reports up to date.
You will be part of a small team and report to your Line Manager.
You will be working 35 hours week. Your shifts will vary 11-7, 08:30-4:30, 9-5. You will be added to the rota to work a half day on a weekend every other week. The weekend shift will be paid and discussed on interview.
You will be paid £147.00 per week.
28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Whilst you will initially be working towards a Level 3 qualification, the employer has given assurances that if all factors allow, there may be an opportunity for an apprentice with the right skills to progress into a full time role within the company
The duties and responsibilities of the role will particularly suit someone with an interest in working within a large and successful Personal Injury Solicitors. Desired professional skills include:
Excellent general literacy and numeracy skills
Experience and confidence with using a variety of IT programmes and systems
Excellent attention to detail with an appreciation for discrepancies
A methodical, step by step approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confidence with working within a heavily regulated industry and performing duties in line with Data Protection and related legislation
You will have a good degree of personal confidence as well as drive, focus and ambition, with a desire to embark on an apprenticeship which could ultimately lead to a rewarding and challenging career
You will have a flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to prioritise effectively and be able to multi task if necessary
You will have the ability to self-manage and take ownership for your own workload
You will be able to effectively contribute to the work of the team and be able to shoulder your share of the day to day responsibilities
You will have a strong desire to develop your personal and professional skills to a very high standard

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your onsite learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.
You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.

I just wanted to say the biggest thank you to Vanessa, my trainer. You have made my journey so much easier, I don’t know what I would have done without you. You have been amazing and helped me to achieve my qualification. You’ve guided me through every step of the way, I really appreciate it, Vanessa, you have been my rock.
I always struggled in school as I wasn’t very academic, so knew learning on the job would be a better option for me. I would find it difficult to get up for 9am but now I wake up and look forward to my day. I wanted to try a hair apprenticeship as I’ve always been interested in hairdressing, and by the end of the first week, I already loved it!
I have developed a range of new skills through work including the technical, industry skills required for the job, to personal development such as ensuring I am always on time. The biggest change since leaving school is adjusting to the independence you gain from earning a salary. My advice to anyone thinking of doing an apprenticeship would be find what you like doing, and go for it!
Since starting the apprenticeship, I’ve become far more confident. In a classroom, you only interact with your classmates, but through working you develop your people skills as you interact with customers on a daily basis. At school, you are closely monitored and parented, however I am now more independent and feel grown up
The most important thing I’ve learnt since leaving school is that there are other routes to success than just academia. I failed my GCSEs, as I never suited the school environment. Now though, I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship as I’ve discovered I learn more through hands-on practice.
