KPT are looking to take on an apprentice to join their family business, which has established itself over many years to offer outstanding quality and service, providing array of services and products with customer service and excellence at the heart of their business. The company is based in Plympton, Plymouth.

The Apprentice’s Role

You will be working in a Customer Service environment where you will be required to carry out basic customer service and administration tasks within KPT such as;
•Greeting customers that come into the centre
•Helping the sales and administration team with processing and prepping orders
•Answering the phones, taking messages and passing them on

As your experience and knowledge increases, you will be tasked with;
•Processing sales
•Completing invoices and contacting clients
•Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity
•Following up on business communications
•Using Microsoft Office and IT Applications
•Building relationships with customers and employees
•Preparing documents and collecting and sorting post

You will be required to take instruction from the director, manager and sales staff, working closely with them to gain as much experience and knowledge as possible throughout the early days of your career. You will have one to one support which will give you a good start.

Working Hours: Your working hours will be Monday to Friday from 9.00am – 5.00pm, 40 hours a week.

Wages: £200.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours per week, will be paid at the appropriate national minimum wage depending on age.

Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

KPT SW have over 35 years experience in the construction trade.

Peter, one of the directors of the company started as an apprentice himself over 35 years ago and over the years he has built up this hugely successful company.

The company have now branched out into bespoke sheds, summerhouses, fencing etc. They have found this to be a highly successfully niche in the market and are now looking to recruit an apprentice for this sector.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will have the opportunity to stay with KPT for your future career, progressing to a more senior role within the business or further qualifications and CPD.

Skills Required

The successful applicant will need to be confident and have an excellent personality whilst working with colleagues and also when engaging with clients face-to-face or over the telephone. You will need a basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

Personal Qualities

It is essential you are able to work in a team and willing to learn. You must listen well to instructions given, be well mannered and polite.

Prior Qualifications

It would also be an advantage to role to have a good a maths and English ability due to the nature of the role.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:
•Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration
•Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT
•Health and Safety Certificate
•Emergency First Aid

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
