Vehicle Refinishing Apprentice

Graham Robins Motor Body Repair’s are looking for a vehicle repair apprentice to help with day to day duties, based in Bugle just outside St Austell, Cornwall.
The Apprentice’s Role
This role will include initial prep of the vehicles, masking up, cleaning ready for paint, sanding body work, sheeting, mixing paint, refinishing work on the vehicles flat and polished. The apprentice will also be delivering general duties within a garage environment. Working within the main garage unit to assist the qualified mechanics with preparation of vehicles, getting them ready to be painted, sanded, have body filler applied and finishing up before returning to customer. This will include cleaning of the vehicles, polishing.
Working Hours: 08:30 am – 17:30 pm Monday-Friday making up 40 hours a week.
Wages: £156.00 per week, based on a 40 hour week. Any additional hours worked over 40 hours per week will be paid at the national minimum wage depending on age.
Holiday: 28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays) will be paid each year, during the course of your apprenticeship.

Gaining an NVQ in Vehicle Accident body Refinishing Level 2. There is also an opportunity to pregress onto a further Level 3 in Vehicle refinishing.
No specific skills required as full training will be given, but an interest in cars/vehicles would be an advantage.
Someone who is keen to learn and relaible. An interest in vehicles or motor trade in general would be an advantage.
No specific requirements or experience required to start the role
The Level 2 Apprenticeship in Vehicle Accident Body Repair consists of:
•Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair Body Competence
•Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair Body Principles
•Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT (Level 1)
•Employment Rights and Responsibilities
•Emergency First Aid
•Certified Health & Safety Course
•Internet Safety / Safeguarding
Attendance will be required at our training centre for one day a week. All other aspects of the qualification will be delivered on site by the employer, where you will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor who will monitor your progress during your training.
Whilst at the Skills Group training centre, you will learn the necessary skills and gain experience to help you throughout your role. Part of your training will be knowledge and theory based, whilst the rest will be practical.
